French Blended Whisky - Bastille 1789
Elaborated by the master distillers of Maison Daucourt, Bastille 1789 is the first Blended Whisky of the French Spirits Valley. Very exotic and fruity, it is made from grain distillates that are 3 to 8 years. It is aged in barrels used for the production of Cognac and Sauternes. Lovers of peated whiskies, take notice!
Tasting notes:
The robe is a brilliant amber orange. On the nose, a generous woody taste, punctuated by notes of honey.
The mouth is round, almost creamy, and the peaty aspect is a frank success, all in finesse. Various notes dance in harmony: orange marmalade, dried apricots, gingerbread .... Then more candied orange, peppery spices, and finally mineral notes - in which we find the famous limestone of the Charente springs, where Bastille 1789 is produced.
The heat is absent, and we enjoy for a long time the woody notes of this excellent Whisky. The finish is slightly spicy.
Tasting recommendations:
Enjoy it neat, or in cocktails for its generous and fruity side - preferably associated with citrus fruits and a touch of Angostura Bitters.
