French Single Malt Whisky - Bastille 1789
Developed by the master distillers at Maison Daucourt, Bastille 1789 is the first Single Malt from the French Spirits Valley. The water from the local springs, filtered over thousands of years by the limestone rocks, gives great purity to this whisky, which has completed its aging in barrels used for the production of Burgundy wine, Sauternes and sherry. This unique and subtle spirit, slightly smoky, will charm aficionados and novices alike.
Tasting Notes:
The nose is long, very pleasant, and brings notes of leather and Rancio. On the palate, this Bastille Single Malt offers woody notes. It is also drier and less peaty than its little brother the Blended Bastille. It shows aromas of dried fruits, sweet spices, as well as a strong "Leather" aspect. The finish is long, peppery, with notes of plums and candied fruits.
