La Rougerie 2015 - Chinon (organic)
La Rougerie is located on a gentle slope on the upper part of the estate where the hillside faces south. In addition to the ideal geographical location, the vines (planted in 1952 and 2007) are on a pure clay soil that is unique to the Rougerie parcel, giving the Cabernet Franc a majestic character, with a deep and complex nose. The tannins are fine and the texture velvety.
Thanks to a meticulous observation of the vineyard and the terroir, and a constant application in the cellar, Bertrand Sourdais has made La Rougerie the grand cru of the Domaine de Pallus, but also that of the entire Chinon appellation.
The Domaine de Pallus enjoys a unique location in the Chinon appellation. It is surrounded by its vines on the hillside and each type of soil produces a characteristic vintage. After five generations, Bertrand Sourdais took over the management of the estate in 2005.
