Bache-Gabrielsen "Aged 21 years" 2001 Cognac - Fins Bois
"The year 2001 marked the start of the new millennium, beginning on a Monday, like the dawn of a new era. In our vineyards, this new millennium produced an excellent first vintage. The winter was cold and rainy, and the summer was scorching, with cool temperatures at night. These weather conditions allowed the grapes to ripen perfectly, developing rich and complex aromas whilst retaining their acidity."
On the nose, notes of spices, hazelnuts and bay leaves. On the palate, notes of freshly roasted coffee and nuts.

The Bache-Gabrielsen house was founded in 1905 by Thomas Bache-Gabrielsen, a Norwegian who had moved to France. Since then, cognac production has remained in the family, and today the founder’s great-grandson, Hervé Bache-Gabrielsen, has taken the reins of the company, with Jean-Philippe Bergier as cellar master. As a négociant-éleveur, the house prides itself on selecting only the finest eaux-de-vie from Grande Champagne. It ages them carefully in Limousin oak casks to bring out their full potential.
