Cognac Frapin - Cuvée Rabelais

This humanist and man of letters, whose work celebrates the love of life, is above all the grandfather of Pierre Frapin, the founder of the House. If this filiation reminds us of the historical roots of Frapin cognacs, it also underlines the exceptional character of this cognac: a blend of remarkable eaux-de-vie coming only from the "Paradis cellars" as well as from the "dames-jeannes" containing old cognacs of unknown ages.

In an amber color with orange reflections, this blend reveals a particularly delicate nose, punctuated by scents of oranges and candied apricots, followed by discreet woody scents. On the palate, they melt into notes of dried fruit and licorice, before revealing the complex aromas of the famous Charentais rancio, evoking tobacco and cigar box. Its infinite length in the mouth completes the extremely progressive tasting of this limited edition.

This original decanter, placed on an aerial base gilded with 24-carat fine gold, is the work of a prestigious French manufacturer: the Cristallerie Saint-Louis. Heirs to a know-how enriched by more than four centuries of history, its master glassmakers and master cutters have patiently blown, cut and decorated it. The neck of the precious bottle, sheathed in gold, is engraved with a vine branch. Each numbered decanter of the Cuvée Rabelais is set in a lacquered wooden box. The interior is lined with light-colored leather, while a mirror highlights the bottle and emphasizes its brilliance.

Established in the Charente region since 1270, the Frapin family is a family of winegrowers and distillers for 21 generations. The Grande Champagne region, Premier Cru of Cognac, has become their homeland. With its exceptional vineyards covering more than 240 hectares, the Frapin family passionately embodies the alliance of ancestral know-how and century-old methods. All its cognacs are harvested, distilled and aged on the estate. In 2008, their "Multimillésime n°1 Frapin" was elected "Best Spirit in the World" at the International Spirits Challenge (ISC) in London. A first for a cognac!

Cognac Frapin has been awarded the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (EPV) label. The EPV label is a mark of recognition by the State set up to distinguish French companies with excellent craft and industrial know-how. Only 3 Cognac houses have been awarded the label to date.
