Yamazaki Single Malt Whisky - 12 years
This single malt is the perfect combination of Scottish know-how and Japanese refinement. This 12 year old is no exception to the rule, possessing both the complexity and freshness of the great Speyside single malts and a touch of floral and smoky aromas.
Today, the Yamazaki distillery is a leading reference in high-end whiskies and belongs to the Beam Suntory group.
Awards:
Often rewarded at the international level, this whisky received a double gold medal at the World Spirits Competition in San Francisco in 2013.
Yamazaki Distillery is located in Shimamoto, Osaka Province. Founded in 1923 by Mr. Masataka Taketsuru on the island of Hokkaido, it is the first historical distillery to be created in Japan.
Its founder studied in Glasgow before returning home with his Scottish wife. But he also brought back in his luggage the desire to make Whisky in Japan: he set up the Yamazaki distillery.
