Cognac Martell - Cordon Bleu
Martell Cordon Bleu was created in 1912 by Edouard Martell, great-grandson of the founder, with a name inspired by the internationally recognized blue ribbon.
"The XO range is complemented here by a unique cognac, Martell Cordon Bleu, whose complexity and aromatic richness have forged its reputation. Marked by the influence of the Borderies, this blend with its caramelized character diffuses the delicacy of sweet spices, gingerbread and roasted cocoa beans." Christophe Valtaud, Cellar Master
On the nose, a lively, rich and complex Cognac, with notes of orchard fruits - candied plum and apple - that blend harmoniously with roasted accents of mocha coffee, roasted almonds and vetiver. In the mouth, a sensation of roundness and sweetness and a persistent finish characterized by notes of fruit and spices.
The House of Martell was founded in 1715 by Jean Martell, a daring young man who at just 21 years old was driven by an unwavering commitment to quality. This philosophy of excellence, combined with a capacity for innovation, allows the House to constantly evolve and create new expressions of cognac.
From the very beginning, Jean Martell favored the Borderies area of the Cognac vineyard, which thus became the signature terroir of the House. The clay-limestone soils of the Borderies produce delicate and elegant, floral and sweet eaux-de-vie, characteristic of the Martell style.
