This special bottling was created in honour of House of Suntory's centenary, Japan's oldest malt distillery.
This single malt is the perfect combination of Scottish expertise and Japanese refinement. It is made from meticulously selected malt whiskies, all cask-aged for at least 12 years. It combines the complexity and freshness of the great Speyside single malts with a hint of floral and smoky aromas.
The Yamazaki distillery is now a leading name in top-of-the-range whiskies, and belongs to the Beam Suntory group.
Yamazaki Distillery is located in Shimamoto, Osaka Province. Founded in 1923 by Mr. Masataka Taketsuru on the island of Hokkaido, it is the first historical distillery to be created in Japan.
Its founder studied in Glasgow before returning home with his Scottish wife. But he also brought back in his luggage the desire to make Whisky in Japan: he set up the Yamazaki distillery.
