Max's range commemorates Max Schubert (1948-1975), Penfold's first Chief Winemaker and creator of Grange. His constant pursuit of excellence paved the way for those who followed in his footsteps and also allowed the status and heritage of Penfolds to grow. Max’s Chardonnay displays the Penfolds ‘stamp’ inspired by Max Schubert.

“In typical Penfolds style, this is a glossy Chardonnay, with balance, finesse and nary a hair out of place. Lifted aromas of pineapple rind, grapefruit, white flower blossoms and flint morph towards cashew and toasted brioche as the wine warms in glass. It's slick in texture, with a lovely line of acidity.
