Millésime 1997 - Cognac Frapin, 27 year old
An expression of centuries-old know-how, the 1997 vintage completes the collection of rare cognacs of the Frapin House.
From the very first sniff, it seduces with its finesse and balance, while revealing a delicate intensity. The floral aromas of lime blossom blend perfectly with fruity notes of orange and peach compote. When aerated, the bouquet is enriched with more indulgent nuances, with hints of vanilla and accents of apple. The attack on the palate surprises with its real freshness, remarkable for a cognac that has undergone long ageing. The overall impression is both balanced and indulgent. The orange notes already perceived on the nose are enhanced by a subtle hint of spice. The finish is elegant, with flavours of nutmeg and liquorice, offering a beautiful length on the palate.
Balanced and refined, the 1997 Vintage reflects the pure expression of our terroir located in the heart of Grande Champagne. It reveals a character shaped by the contrasting climatic conditions of that year. After rapid and early flowering, the cool and rainy months of June and July were followed by a sunnier August, promoting balanced ripening of the grapes. The harvest, both abundant and of fine quality, produced eaux-de-vie combining freshness and complexity. Distilled on lees and aged mainly in humid cellars, this vintage reveals aromatic richness, finesse and length on the palate.
Established in the Charente region since 1270, the Frapin family is a family of winegrowers and distillers for 21 generations.
