La Quintinye - Vermouth Royal Blanc
La Quintinye Vermouth Royal Blanc is named after Jean-Baptiste de La Quintinye, Charentais by birth, a visionary botanist and an exceptional gardener. It is a tribute to the excellence and memory of the man to whom we owe the vegetable and botanical gardens of the Château de Versailles.
A French vermouth made from a unique blend of white wines from the South West and Pineau des Charentes Blanc, La Quintinye is flavoured by the subtle combination of 18 botanicals. Floral and fruity aromas (peach), citrus notes and a touch of sage make for a sumptuously round and flavoursome nectar. Enjoy it neat as an aperitif or in a cocktail. Once opened, it can be refrigerated for up to 6 months.
Chosen for their aromatic properties, 12 plants and spices make up the palette common to all La Quintinye Vermouths:
- Artemisia - The essential plant for a Vermouth, it belongs to the Wormwood family.
- Angelica - Initially sweet, evolving towards bittersweet notes.
- Cinnamon - The bark with its characteristic warm and powerful taste.
- Quassia Amara - Wood and bark with an intense bitterness.
- Ginger - Flavours as sweet as they are powerful.
- Cardamom - An aromatic plant with lemony flavours.
- Fleur de Vigne - The ephemeral flower with its subtle and delicate aromas is a signature.
- Licorice - The sweet taste of the plant also known as ‘Sweet Root’.
- Iris Root - Adds its violet-like aromas while enhancing those of other plants.
- Citrus Aurantium - Better known as Bitter Orange, used for its citrus bouquet with fresh, fruity notes.
- Nutmeg - A sweet, rounded profile with a very slight bitterness.
- Quinquina - Known for its acidic, bitter flavour.
A specific selection is then added to each vermouth.
