Cognac Hennessy - X.X.O Hors d’âge
While Hennessy X.X.O Hors d'âge Cognac is officially a cognac aged a minimum of 14 years in oak barrels, it is actually a rich symphony of Hennessy's finest spirits, some aged for over 50 years.
Its rich and expressive aromas develop a complex landscape of herbal and spicy notes: bitter orange and freshly grated nutmeg, licorice stick, dried peppermint leaves and delicate spices. Robust in structure, it also possesses great finesse, with a persistent finish, highlighted by a spicy note.
Hennessy X.X.O was born in 1870 alongside Hennessy X.O, when Master Blender Emile Fillioux chose to reserve eaux-de-vie with promising potential. The result was so astonishing that the discovery was shared around the world. The House records show shipments to the United States in 1871, China in 1872 and Germany in 1889. With the know-how inherited from his family and 50 years of career within the House of Hennessy, Yann Fillioux, 7th generation of Master Blenders, decided to recreate Hennessy X.X.O in 2018.
For more than 250 years, Hennessy has been producing its exceptional cognacs in the heart of its native region, the Charente. Responsible and committed to the protection of its terroir, Hennessy radiates the excellence of its know-how in every bottle, in more than 160 countries.
A remarkable nose and palate, extreme precision, a bold vision... The Master Blender is the guardian of the unique know-how of the House of Hennessy. For over 200 years, the Hennessy family has entrusted the tasting of its cognacs to the Fillioux family. Renaud Fillioux from Gironde represents the eighth generation in charge of blending cognacs at Hennessy. This lineage has been perpetuated for two centuries.
