From a unique vineyard covering more than 240 hectares in the heart of Grande Champagne, 1er Cru du Cognac, this "15 year old" blend is the emanation of the terroir and the spirit of the House. Harvesting, distillation and aging are carried out entirely at the estate. The only XO Frapin to offer a blend of cognacs from both wet and dry cellars, it bridges these two worlds of slow maturation, obtaining from one its roundness and suppleness, stealing from the other its finesse and elegance.
The nose reveals notes of vanilla and wood mixed with tea and dried flowers. On the palate, the aromas of vanilla and wood are joined by notes of dried fruit and toast.
"This XO "Brut de fût" cognac goes directly from the barrel to the bottle without undergoing any transformation, its high degree of 45.3 giving it strength and complexity. Established in the Charente region since 1270, the Frapin family is a family of winegrowers and distillers for 21 generations. The Grande Champagne region, Premier Cru of Cognac, has become their homeland. With its exceptional vineyards covering more than 240 hectares, the Frapin family passionately embodies the alliance of ancestral know-how and century-old methods. All its cognacs are harvested, distilled and aged on the estate. In 2008, their "Multimillésime n°1 Frapin" was elected "Best Spirit in the World" at the International Spirits Challenge (ISC) in London. A first for a cognac!
Cognac Frapin has been awarded the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (EPV) label. The EPV label is a mark of recognition by the State set up to distinguish French companies with excellent craft and industrial know-how. Only 3 Cognac houses have been awarded the label to date.
