Clos des Demoiselles 2012 - Listrac-Médoc
Clos des Demoiselles nurtures its 4 hectares of old Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon on the southern slopes of Puy de Menjon, the highest point in the Medoc. Having belonged to the same family since 1820, the estate was taken over by the Chanfreau family in 2002. Jean Chanfreau strives to express the unique character of this deep Pyrenean gravel terroir.
The grapes from this small vineyard, a jewel set between the vines of Fonréaud and Lestage, planted mainly with Merlot, are vinified with passion to bring out the wine's finesse and balance. The wine is matured in oak barrels (40% new) until bottling. It reveals the marvellous character of its beautiful terroir: balance and charm. A lovely red, light and aromatic.
Environmental certification: Terra Vitis. The vines are cultivated according to the principles of sustainable agriculture, grassed, tended with the greatest care and harvested by hand.
