Fontenille Blanc magnum 2021 - Lubéron (organic)
Domaine de Fontenille is located in the Luberon, at the foot of Mont Saint-Victoire, in one of the sunniest regions of France and on an exceptional terroir. The vineyards are farmed organically since 2017.
Made of Rolle, Grenache blanc and Clairette, this white wine offers aromas of hawthorn, acacia, white peach and pear. A fresh nose which also shows richer notes of honey or quince. The mouth is refined, round, with a nice length. The final brings contrast to the whole by its freshness and its minerality.
Fief of the Savornin family since 1640, the Domaine de Fontenille is one of the rare Provencal properties that have retained their original appearance. The vineyard is made up of the characteristic grape varieties of the Luberon: Syrah, Grenache Noir, Grenache Blanc, Vermentino.
The culture of the vine in Fontenille dates back to the beginning of the 17th century. The Domaine benefits from the latest vinification techniques in a modern cellar with traditional architecture. The different types of vinification are showcased thanks to the majestic treatment of the interior spaces: rounded concrete vats placed in a hemicycle, stainless steel vats plunging into the wooden barrel cellar.
The Domaine de Fontenille enjoys an exceptional terroir. The vines draw their strength from clay-limestone and stony soils. The slightly sloping hillsides provide perfect sunshine and better water drainage. The mistral of Provence naturally cleanses the grapes.
