1970 Château Beauregard - Pomerol - HS

Located northeast of Libourne, Pomerol, next to Saint-Emilion, is the smallest of the prestigious Bordeaux appellations, with only 800 hectares of vines. Its exceptional terroir is dominated by clay gravel on which Merlot, the king grape variety of the region, and Cabernet Franc, located on the deepest gravel, flourish.

Built in the middle of the 18th century on a property that has belonged to the Beauregard family since the 17th century, Château Beauregard is located at the entrance of the appellation on a surface area of 17.5 hectares, which ranks it among the largest Pomerol properties. Its plot is planted with 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc. Over the decades, its successive owners have contributed to its development and its classification among the best wines of Pomerol. In 2014, Château Beauregard was bought by the Moulin and Cathiard families (Château Smith Haut-Lafitte).
