La Guilde du Cognac - Borderies, Single Village Cherves Richemont 2010
Located north of Cognac, Cherves Richemont belongs to the very specific Borderies cru. Representing barely 5% of the vineyard, the cognacs from the Borderies are renowned for their complexity and depth of flavor.
The year 2010 benefited from a regular climate throughout the seasons, allowing the grapes to be harvested at the end of September. Distilled in the traditional way and then aged in a selection of barrels from different coopers, toasters and grains, these eaux-de-vie offer a rich and complex aromatic palette. Floral nose and dried fruit aromas. In the mouth, notes of jasmine and crème brulée.
In the Middle Ages, a guild was a group of people practicing a common activity, with specific rules. Created on the initiative of Maison Villevert, the Cognac Guild brings together distillers - true Artisan Distillers - who cultivate their vines, elaborate their wine, distill it into Cognac and take care of its aging.
The Cognac region is divided into 6 crus. Each Cru has its own terroir expressed by the soil, the subsoil, the climate, the vines and the know-how of the men. Among these crus, a village, represented by a distiller, has been selected for its unique, authentic and exceptional style.
