Viña Requingua Toro de Piedra "Grand reserve" 2020 - Curicó Valley, Chili
Viña Requingua, which in Mapuche means ´Corner of the Winds’, was founded in 1961 by Santiago Achurra Larraín. The property handles 349 hectares in seven different vineyards that are spread across Chile's main wine valleys. In 2016, Vina Requingua Estate was recognized as one of the top 100 wines in the world by the World Association of Writers and Journalists of Wines and Spirits.
A blend of equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah from south-facing vineyards, but with more morning sun, which keeps more acidity in the grapes.
The wine is aged 12 months in French and American oak barrels, with 15% new wood. Round and supple tannins, notes of spice, plum, chocolate and roasted coffee beans, on a palate that remains fresh.
