Podere Brizio Rosso di Montalcino 2017 - Italy
Podere Brizio is a boutique winery southwest of Montalcino, whose history is inextricably linked with the production of world-famous Brunello.
The Rosso di Montalcino is made from vineyards at an altitude of 330-350 meters above sea level facing the sea and the Maremma. This is Montalcino’s hottest area. There the soil consists of sandstone and rocky marl, which allows the production of well-structured, mineral wines.
The wine is made with a spontaneous fermentation using native yeast, then aged in 54 HL un-toasted French oak barrel for 12 months. Intense aromas with notes of ripe red fruit. Fresh on the palate, with elegant notes of currant and red fruits. A full-bodied, balanced wine with a long finish.
