1964 Château Canon La Gaffelière - Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé - MS

Château Canon La Gaffelière is located at the foot of the hill, south of the village of Saint-Emilion. Its clayey-limestone and sandy-clay terroir, offering great drainage and particularly receptive to heat, results in dense and rich wines. The almost equal parts of the grape varieties, between Merlot on the one hand and Cabernet Franc on the other hand, completed by a small percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon, is quite atypical of the appellation. The Cabernet varieties flourish particularly well in this climate. They bring power and aromatic complexity to the opulence of the Merlot. The wines of Canon La Gaffelière are known for their elegance and finesse.
