Whisky Hibiki 'Japanese Harmony'
Launched in March 2015, Hibiki Japanese Harmony is created under the direction of Master Blender Shingo Torii, by a team from parent company Suntory. This whisky celebrates the harmony that exists in Japan between nature and people. Delicate and perfectly balanced, smooth, with subtle aromas, it is composed of more than ten malt and grain whiskies, aged in five different varieties of casks (American white oak, Sherry and Japanese oak, the very precious mizunara of Japan) and coming from Suntory's distilleries in Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita. All are blended in a perfect symphony of aromas and flavors.
A whisky with a sweet flavor, with notes of rose and sandalwood on the nose, and a light note of honey, orange and white chocolate on the palate.
Hibiki was launched in 1989 to commemorate Suntory’s 90th anniversary. It is not only Japan’s most highly awarded blended whisky, but among the most prestigious and honoured whiskies in the world.
At Suntory, the Master Blender tastes over 300 malt whisky samples a day, having final say on the subtle, refined, and complex flavors of each whisky. "To become a blender at Suntory, one needs to be able to communicate with whiskies that can not speak." The words of founder Sinjiro Torii live in all Suntory blenders' minds. The Art of Blending is a continuous collaboration of blenders of the past and the future.
