Thierry Ledain “Impatience” 2020 - Côtes de Brouilly
At the top of Mont Brouilly, true emblem of the appellation, Côtes de Brouilly covers 4 communes only: Saint-Lager, Odenas, Quincié-en-Beaujolais, Cercié. The wines produced are generous, with fine tannins; the aromas are reminiscent of pepper, small macerated black fruits with mineral notes.
Created in 2007, at a time when many Beaujolais winegrowers were abandoning the hillsides or thinking of quitting, Domaine de Rochefolle was built up piece by piece, parcel by parcel by its current owners, Thierry Ledain and Fernanda Galante. Born in Libourne, Thierry started with just 7 hectares; his property now covers 70 hectares, with a carefully crafted diversity of terroirs. Some of the grapes are sent to a cooperative cellar, while the best are vinified and bottled at the estate. Thierry Ledain is HVE (High Environmental Value) certified since 2018. The "Rochefolle" side of the winery is certified organic since 2018.
