Cognac Forgeron - Folle Blanche 2009
Like all Michel Forgeron cognacs, this "Folle Blanche 2008" Cognac comes from the Grande Champagne terroir, the most prestigious in the Cognac production area. Aged for over 10 years in French oak barrels, it has been patiently reduced by the addition of distilled water, and is now offered at 47% alcohol, a good compromise between preservation of taste and aroma, and power on the palate. It is made from the single Folle Blanche grape variety, which is much fruitier than the Ugni Blanc used in most Cognacs.
Old gold color. A nose of lime blossom and Timut pepper. The sweetness of dried fruit and honey on the palate. The bitterness of almond and the spiciness of Timut pepper on the finish. The discovery of exoticism, in the world of Cognac
The family estate has been in existence since 1909, and the "Michel Forgeron" brand was created in 1977. Today, Pierre and Christophe Forgeron take over from their parents Michel and Francine. They have set as their priority environmentally-friendly practices.
