Distillerie Rémy Piron - Découverte Perpétuelle N°1 Cognac
A very limited edition of 1,000 bottles! Numbered bottles!
A cognac three decades old, made from 3 Grande Champagne casks: 1999, 1989 and 1986. It has been slightly reduced to 46% alcohol: a dilution that highlights its unique qualities and depth of character.
On the nose, ripe fruits (candied apricots, prunes), subtly enhanced by floral (lily), woody, and spicy (vanilla, clove) aromas, which give way after a few moments to notes of hazelnut, muscat, and cinnamon. The palate is supple and delicate, with finesse and volume, power without aggressiveness, spicy notes of muscat and clove, dried fruit, and a beautifully long finish with a lovely rancio.
It comes in a sleek 500 ml bottle with a wax-sealed cork. Its "raw from the barrel" aesthetic, with eco-friendly packaging, is its pride: a streamlined bottle wrapped in Moulin de Verger paper, reducing material waste. The back label is cut from the central imprint of the main label and hand-glued without adhesive. The natural cork stopper is reminiscent of barrel bungs. The absence of a case underlines the minimalist approach, with a light 60g paper overwrap, applied by hand.
