Cognac Ragnaud-Sabourin - N°20 "Réserve Spéciale"
Since 1850, the Ragnaud-Sabourin family has been cultivating a vineyard located in the heart of the Grande Champagne region, the first growth of cognac. All their cognacs have been produced and marketed for 4 generations, from the top-of-the-range eaux de vie distilled on the property and without blending of crus. Today, the estate is run by Annie Ragnaud-Sabourin and her son Olivier.
The Ragnaud-Sabourin N°20 is a Premier Cru 100% Grande Champagne, distilled from a majority of Ugni Blanc grapes, completed by a small percentage of Folle Blanche. This blend has been aged for at least 20 years in French oak barrels, giving it real complexity, depth of flavor and rounded character.
It has a deep bronze and topaz color. The nose is subtle with notes of roasted hazelnuts, almonds and nougat. The body is full and supple and the palate is round and creamy, showing a taste of nuts and dried fruits with hints of wood spice, caramel and balsamic notes.
Its 43% gives it a long and deep finish, with a nice note of oxidation. Enjoy it at the end of a meal, with dark chocolate with hazelnuts.
