An elegant rum with sophisticated flavors of white flowers, roasted pineapple and molasses cake. Harmonious on the palate, filled with golden flavors for length and a slow finish on notes of vanilla and melon.
4 ESSENTIAL STEPS
A meticulous selection is made from distillates coming from 3 distinct terroirs of the Caribbean islands of Barbados, Trinidad and Jamaica. The intention of the Cellar Master is to bring out the typicality of these terroirs in a perfect balance (20% Barbados, 60% Trinidad & 20% Jamaica), thanks to the richness and power of molasses distillation in stills associated with the finesse and lightness of sugar cane distillation in columns.
The selected rums primarily age for up to 5 years in American white oak casks.
The aged rum now voyages across the ocean to France to be blended by Master Distiller Jerome Tessendier. His intent is to create a unique harmony, blending the different terroirs with their diverse floral, fruity and spicy aromatic profiles.
The blend rests in mature French oak barrels on the banks of the Charente River for 9 months. This finishing will ensure stability and balance while bringing a characteristic note of rancio. The rum is then gradually reduced to 42%; no sugar is added.
Created in 1880 by Gaston Tessendier, the Distillery owns today an estate of more than 25 hectares in the heart of the most exclusive growth of the Cognac region: the Borderies. 4th generation Cellar Masters Lilian and Jérôme Tessendier, compose and blend the eaux-de-vie thanks to the expertise and daily attention of the whole team. By launching into the production of whisky, the company opens a new page in its history.
