Fontenille Rosé 2023 - Luberon (organic)
A frank and generous rosé in the mouth, with aromas of rose, citrus and red fruits. The mouth is fresh, mineral, with a nice length.
The Domaine de Fontenille, which has been a stronghold of the Savornin family since 1640, is located in the Luberon at the foot of Mont Saint-Victoire and is one of the few Provencal properties to have retained its original appearance. The vineyard is made up of the characteristic grape varieties of the Luberon PDO: Syrah, Grenache Noir, Grenache Blanc, Vermentino.
The culture of the vine in Fontenille dates back to the beginning of the 17th century. Advocating sustainable agriculture, the Domaine is in organic farming since 2017 and benefits from the latest techniques of wine making in a new cellar with traditional architecture. The different types of vinification are staged thanks to the majestic treatment of the interior spaces: rounded concrete vats placed in a hemicycle, stainless steel vats plunging into the wooden barrel cellar.
The Domaine de Fontenille benefits from an exceptional terroir. The vines draw their strength from clay-limestone and stony soils. The slightly sloping hillsides provide perfect sunshine and better water drainage. The mistral wind of Provence naturally cleanses the grapes. The vineyard is managed in such a way as to minimize treatments and to bring the grapes to the best possible maturity while respecting the natural cycles.
