Grape info: in France, Caladoc covers about 1,400 hectares, mainly in Provence and Languedoc. It is a vigorous variety, resistant to disease. Since it is not officially authorized under the AOC rules, the winegrowers who use it are obliged to label their wines as "Vin de France".
Between Languedoc and Provence, between the Rhone and the Gardon, Montfrin, from the Latin "Mons Fremens" means "the mountain of wild animals" because animals fleeing the floods of the Rhone and the furious Gardons, came to take refuge there. Today other animals live there, some even cultivate the vine, the olive tree... Jean-René de Fleurieu
