1997 Château Bourgneuf - Pomerol
Château Bourgneuf covers 9 hectares in a single block. Bourgneuf has belonged to the Vayron family since 1840. Eight generations have succeeded one another, transmitting their attachment to this land and its history. Complexity, finesse and strength characterize this Pomerol. Although it can be drunk young, it will reach its peak after many years of ageing.
Located northeast of Libourne, Pomerol, next to Saint-Emilion, is the smallest of the prestigious Bordeaux appellations, with only 800 hectares of vines. Its exceptional terroir is dominated by clay gravel on which Merlot, the king grape variety of the region, and Cabernet Franc, located on the deepest gravel, flourish.
