Excellia - Tequila Reposado
HISTORY Excellia Tequila Grand Cru is a unique tasting tequila, the fruit of Mexican authenticity and French know-how at Maison Villevert. Excellia Tequila Grand Cru boldly sublimates the world of tequila through an extraordinary taste experience and a human story told by two passionate people: Doña Leticia Hermosillo Ravelero and Jean-Sébastien Robicquet. Doña Leticia Hermosillo Ravelero, a pioneer in the tequila industry, is one of the few women to head a 400-hectare estate of agaves and a distillery run by her son, Maestro Tequilero Don Alberto Partida. They are very attached to their terroirs, and share the same values: respect for their heritage, their ancestral know-how and their cultures.
PRODUCED by hand in a single distillery, ‘Cava de Oro’, Excellia Tequila Grand Cru is an additive-free tequila, 100% agave from the Blue Weber variety, grown to maturity, around 8 years old.
PRODUCTION The agave is harvested by hand, traditionally cooked in brick wood-fired ovens and then ground in a wheel mill to gently extract the agave juice. The juice and bagasse then undergo natural fermentation. This is followed by double distillation, carried out according to the rules of the Cognac art. Then comes the magic of ageing in casks that have matured Sauternes grands crus and cognac over 20 years old.
NOSE: Powerful, lively and complex.
PALATE: Authentic, in perfect harmony with the nose. Spicy notes dominated by peppers.
FINISH: Persistent mid-palate, slightly marked by woody notes.
