Petit Manou 2019 - Médoc
A quaffable, fruity, round and harmonious wine.
Petit Manou is the second wine of Clos Manou, the property of Françoise and Stéphane Dief. In 1998, they transformed their garage into a winery and vinified their first vintage: only 600 bottles. Today, they cultivate 18 hectares on several types of soil. The vineyard is about 40 years old and includes Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. No chemical weed killers are used, all the soils are maintained by ploughing and scratching. The grapes are harvested by hand.
Petit Manou is a blend of Merlot (66%), Cabernet Sauvignon (30%) and Cabernet Franc (4%). The wine is aged in concrete vats for 5 months, then all of it goes into French oak barrels (50% second year, 50% third year) for 12 months. It is bottled 19 to 20 months after the harvest, without fining and with filtration.
