The 2022 vintage: solar and remarkable
"After a contrasted 2021 vintage, let's not sulk in our pleasure: the wines produced in 2022 appear, at the beginning of their maturation, out of the ordinary and remarkable!" Institute of Vine and Wine Sciences of the University of Bordeaux, Oenology Research Unit
The same institute notes that this last year has given "good dry white wines, sweet wines remarkable for their depth and red wines out of the ordinary for both the Left Bank and Right Bank, concentrated but surprisingly harmonious". For the reds, it concludes: "Excessive in its climatology, the 2022 vintage seems to have produced surprisingly well-balanced and harmonious wines, tannic but pulpy, preserving a freshness and brightness typical of great Bordeaux. As always, it is the ageing that will reveal their true potential, but at this stage they appear particularly promising and literally exceptional."
A sunny vintage, where cool nights, combined with judicious choices, helped preserve acidity. The wines achieve the delicate balance of being both powerful and elegant. Given the small yields due to the impact of often extreme weather conditions (frost, heat, drought), this vintage is in high demand!
Straight from the vineyard, daily Primeurs 2022 releases.
A "vin primeur" in the Bordeaux region is a wine sold while it is still maturing in the barrels of the Château. For more than two centuries, the great Châteaux of Bordeaux have sold their wines exclusively to négociants and not directly to individuals. These merchants then market the wines around the world, usually between May and July. The customer receives his wines after the bottling at the domain. For the 2022 vintage, the wines will be delivered between the fall of 2024 and the spring of 2025.
The advantages of the Primeurs in Bordeaux:
- Reserve your wine and be sure to be delivered
- Buy at a lower price than at the time of release
- Benefit from a guarantee of quality because the wines come directly from the properties
- Benefit from a choice of sizes (bottle, magnum, etc)
