Cognac Frapin "Trilogie" Série n°1, 1986 – 1988 – 1990
Limited edition of 1600!
"A sensory trilogy, a quest for excellence, a rare product, an ephemeral cognac..." confides Patrice Piveteau, Maître de Chais for several generations.
Trilogie Frapin n°1 is presented in a wooden box in a sleek, numbered bottle. Trilogie is composed of the original blend of 3 vintages distilled on lees: 1986, 1988 and 1990. The 1990 vintage, the youngest, gives structure to the composition. The 1988 brings finesse and spicy notes, while the 1986 provides suppleness and balance. Winner of two gold medals and the title of Cognac of the Year at the International Spirits Challenge 2023, this cognac shines with its charisma and elegant aromatic palette.
The delicate fragrances direct our emotions towards a comforting bouquet of candied orange, dried fig, gingerbread and lightly caramelized apples. The balance highlights the luxuriance of the aromas. Round and full, with notes of licorice and stewed apricot enhanced by a hint of nutmeg. The harmony of fruit and spice is matched by the refined, inimitable flavors of cigar box, prolonged by those of rancio, ample and sensual. The long finish bears witness to the great age and priceless quality of such a treasure.
Established in the Charente region since 1270, the Frapin family is a family of winegrowers and distillers for 21 generations. The Grande Champagne region, Premier Cru of Cognac, has become their homeland. With its exceptional vineyards covering more than 240 hectares, the Frapin family passionately embodies the alliance of ancestral know-how and century-old methods. All its cognacs are harvested, distilled and aged on the estate. In 2008, their "Multimillésime n°1 Frapin" was elected "Best Spirit in the World" at the International Spirits Challenge (ISC) in London. A first for a cognac!
Cognac Frapin has been awarded the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (EPV) label. The EPV label is a mark of recognition by the State set up to distinguish French companies with excellent craft and industrial know-how. Only 3 Cognac houses have been awarded the label to date.
