Château de Lascaux - "Garrigue - Plus que Nature" 2022 - Coteaux du Languedoc (organic)
A red with an expressive, seductive nose of black cherry and cocoa. The palate is very warm, fluid, fresh and inviting. Great drinkability, with cherry notes and a peppery finish.
Syrah: 70% Grenache: 30
The vines are planted on limestone soils, in the heart of a garrigue planted with holm oaks and Aleppo pines, with a fairly cool Mediterranean climate. The vineyard has been farmed organically since 2006 and biodynamic practices have been introduced for the last 5 years.
Traditional vinification, with maceration for 3 to 4 days followed by a 14-day fermentation. Native yeasts. Aged in crude concrete vats for a minimum of 6 to 8 months.
The Cavalier family settled in Vacquières in the Pic Saint-loup region in the 16th century, where they still live today. In 1984, Jean-Benoît took over from fourteen generations of winegrowers. He developed new terroirs, enlarged the production area and built a new cellar to further improve the precision of the wines. Today, the 15th generation has joined the 14th, perpetuating a family history in harmony with the rich natural environment.
