Cognac Park - Extra Grande Champagne
A family business created in 1880 by Gaston Tessendier, the Distillery owns today more than 25 hectares of vineyards in the heart of the most exclusive "cru" of the Cognac region: the Borderies. 4th generation Cellar Masters Lilian and Jérôme Tessendier distill, compose and blend the eaux-de-vie which, thanks to the rigor and daily attention of the whole team, will become Cognac Park. The house is know for its pure, delicate and complex style.
Cognac Park Extra is the result of blending the best eaux-de-vie from Grande Champagne, a prestigious cru producing complex and long-lasting eaux-de-vie. It has been matured for several decades in oak barrels in the soft, humid and cool atmosphere of the family estate's cellars along the Charente River. It is the quintessence of Park cognacs.
With a beautiful amber color, it reveals a bouquet marked by aromas of coconut, passion fruit and nutmeg. On the palate, it is extremely smooth and reveals all of its richness. Its seductive complexity lies in a masterful balance between power and finesse.
Dominic Park is originally from Scotland; he worked in the wine trade for 10 years in London before discovering the Cognac region. He had the idea to create a house under his name, specialized in pure distillates presented in a minimalist packaging.
In 1993, he joined forces with Jérôme Tessendier to create Cognac Park. They pioneered "handmade" cognacs, what will be called much later craft cognacs. Dominic passed the torch in 2008 and Distillerie Tessendier became the sole owner of Cognac Park.
